FAQ'S

ANSWER

My bunny has a large swollen area on her body. What can we do for her?

When a rabbit gets an infection the body forms a sack around the infection. The sack will usually open on it's own and drain. If it is in an area that keeps the bunny from eating, it needs to be opened and drained. As always I reccomend taking the bunny to the vet .

My bunny has cold ears, is this a health issue?

Usually not, the doe goes through heat about every three days. One of the signs of heat is the warmer ears. If a bunny shows no other signs of illness, she is more than likely in heat when her ears are warm.

Can I keep my buck and doe together?

This is not a good idea, thier will be territorial problems, and the doe will suffer. The buck will spray her and everything in the hutch (claiming it) He will not allow her to eat and drink as much as she should, causing her stress. He will take her anytime he wants even when pregnant, causing a loss of babies,

My Bunny gets diarhea at

least once a month and I

have to take her to the vet

what can I do to stop this

cycle?

You can give your bunny

a handful of hay 2 times a

week. Roll the hay up into

a tight ball and put it in the

 cage with her.

I WANT TO GET MY RABBIT A TOY.
WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?

RABBIT TEETH ARE VERY SHARP
THEY CAN CHEW THROUGH MOST
OBJECTS.
PLASTIC,WHEN EATEN CAN MAKE
YOUR RABBIT SICK.
WOOD,WILL ALSO BE EATEN,BUT
IS VERY GOOD FOR THEIR TEETH.

MY FOVORITE TOY IS A TUNA CAN
(WITH THE PAPER REMOVED).
A RABBIT WILL AMUSE ITSELF FOR
HOURS THROWING IT AROUND ITS
CAGE.THEY CAN'T CHEW THROUGH
IT,AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

MY RABBIT HAS SNIFFLES
  IS THIS DANGEROUS?

A COLD CAN BE FATAL TO A
RABBIT . YOU NEED TO GET AN
ANTIBIOTIC SHOT AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE. YOU CAN GET ONE AT
YOUR LOCAL FEED STORE.
THIS NEEDS TO BE TOOK CARE OF
SOON,BECAUSE COLDS ARE
CONTAGEOUS.

MY RABBITS TEETH ARE GROWING
LONG,AND SHE CAN BARELY EAT.I
HAVE NOTICED SHE IS LOSING
WEIGHT.DO I NEED TO TAKE HER
TO THE VET ?

THE VET IS ALWAYS THE BEST
ANSWER TO ANY ANIMALS
HEALTH. HOWEVER,TRIMMING
 THE TEETH IS NOT HARD.YOU
NEED A PAIR OF SIDE CUTTER
PLIERS,HAVE SOMEONE HOLD
THE RABBIT ON ITS BACK,
PLACE THE PLIERS IN ITS MOUTH
GRASPING THE TEETH AND SNIP
THEM OFF.THE TOP TEETH SHOULD
BE THE SAME LENGTH AS THE
UPPER LIP.BOTTOM TEETH ABOVE
THE GUM LINE.BE CAREFUL NOT TO
CUT INTO THE GUM,OR CATCH THE
LIP IN THE PLIERS.

MY DOE IS 6 MONTHS OLD
I CAN NOT GET HER TO TAKE
MY BUCK.WHAT DO YOU
SUGGEST?

A FIRST TIME DOE NEEDS TO
BE IN NATURAL HEAT. CHECK
YOUR DOE DAILY. IF SHE IS
REAL RED AROUND THE IN-
SIDE OF HER VULVA SHE IS
IN NATURAL HEAT,AND WILL
TAKE THE BUCK.

One of my bunnies urinates on the
other one. What can I do to stop this?

Rabbits are not social creatures
if you have them together,the
dominant one is trying to run the
 other one from his/her territory.
You need to seperate the bunnies
giving both their own territory.
If the cages are connected you
should install a pee guard. You can
purchase them at most feed stores.
You can make your own by placing
a metal devider between the cages.

MY RABBIT HAS STOPPED EATING,
SHE SITS IN ONE CORNER OF HER
CAGE AND DOSENT MOVE. I NOTICED
SORES ON HER FEET . WHAT DO I DO?

#1 : CLEAN HER SORES
#2 :APPLY ANTIBIOTIC
#3 :FIND THE PROBLEM

THE #1 REASON FOR SORE HOCKS
IS LITTER LEFT ON THE CAGE
FLOOR. A CLEAN SURFACE IS
ESSENTIAL.
THE#2 REASON IS BROKEN WIRES
CHECK THE CAGE FOR ANY WIRES
YOUR RABBIT COULD HAVE PUNC-
TURED ITS FEET WITH.
THE #3 REASON IS THE WIRE
ITSELF, SOMETIMES THE RABBIT
JUST GETS SORES FROM THE WIRE,
PROVIDE A SMOOTH SPACE FOR
THE RABBIT GET OFF THE WIRE.

MY RABBIT HAS HAIR
COMING OFF HER HEAD
SHE IS SHOWING BALD
SPOTS. SINCE I DONT
KNOW WHAT IS WRONG
I WORRY ABOUT THE ONE
NEXT TO HER.

IT IS MOST LIKELY,THE BUNNY
YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IS
THE CAUSE OF THE OTHER ONE'S
PROBLEM.SOMETIMES DOES WILL
FIGHT BETWEEN THE CAGES,AND
PULL THE HAIR OFF EACH OTHER.
PLACE A  METAL DIVIDER IN THE
CAGE TO SEPERATE THE TWO.
THIS SHOULD ELIMINATE THE
PROBLEM,AND LET THE BALD
BUNNY REGROW HER HAIR.
