RECYCLING What is the world coming to?! Are we so
busy we can’t take a few seconds to use an air hand dryer instead of four paper towels?
Are we too good to humble ourselves to helping something as venerable as our earth? I am so tired
of standing in the public bathroom watching an old lady with tiny hands using five paper towels,
and then blowing her nose, wiping her shoes, and mopping the floor with a huge wad of towels before realizing she
has better things to do. She wasted so many towels. Another series of examples are the teen who is sitting
across the restaurant using a new napkin every other time she wipes her face, the cook in the back packing food in Styrofoam,
plastic, and paper, the elderly man down the street that is smoking them and throwing them, the cars whizzing down the street,
the paper cup I’m holding, and the plastic straw sticking out of it and standing tall. All of these things can be either
recycled or burned in an incinerator, and then compacted to its ashen state. How distant will we become, America?
HOW DISTANT?
